Open letter: The British Government must take global leadership with a ‘total ban’ on the ivory trade

Together with 100 politicians, celebrities and other conservationists #ElephantVoices Co-Founders and Co-Directors Joyce Poole and Petter Granli have signed a letter to the British Government, urging it to take global leadership toward a ‘total ban’ on the ivory trade.

The letter starts: “We, the undersigned elephant biologists, wildlife conservationists, international wildlife trade experts, Members of Parliament, concerned representatives of the media and the public, call on you and the Government to take the following further and immediate measures to enhance the protection and survival of wild elephants, building on the modest steps that you have taken to date.”

The UK can do a lot, and our suggestions are listed in the letter. Please share this post with anyone you believe can positively influence this vital issue for elephants and their future. You can download the letter through this link: http://tinyurl.com/h4jc8dz.
